Te Pae Oranga o Ruahine o Tararua covers the regions of Horowhenua, Manawatū District, Palmerston North, Tararua District and Ōtaki. These are also the old MidCentral DHB boundaries with the addition of Parewahawaha (Ōhinepuhiawe).

This map indicates the Te Pae Oranga takiwa and shows the area of Te Ika a-Maui covered by Te Pae Oranga as an Iwi-Māori partnership board, as stated in the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022.

As indicated by the darker shading, Horowhenua is the locality prototype for Te Pae Oranga IMPB. A locality prototype is a locality partnership for a geographical area. The members of the partnership work together to identify local health and wellbeing needs and priorities, and to support provider networks to deliver improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
